Spray foam insulation in Edmonton and Calgary

With over 12 years of experience, our team will guide you through choosing the right insulation for your building. We serve homes, shops, farms, commercial sites and industrial projects.

01 / The problem

It's -32°C out. That wall is wide open.

Studs, sheathing and air. Every gap around a wire, a box or a window frame is a path for cold air in and warm, wet air out.

02 / The spray

Liquid on. Foam in seconds.

Closed cell foam leaves the gun as a liquid and expands about 30 to 40 times as it hits the sheathing. We build it up in passes, bottom to top.

03 / The fill

It goes where batts can't.

Foam wraps around cables and boxes and fills the odd-shaped gaps beside windows. No sagging, no settling, nothing for mice to nest in.

04 / The seal

One layer. Three jobs.

At two inches or more, closed cell is your insulation, your air barrier and your vapour barrier in most wall assemblies. Our team of experts will guide you through the specifics of your project.

05 / Done

Warm side in. Cold side out.

Most spray foam jobs are finished in a day, and we leave the site cleaner than we found it.

Why spray foam

Insulation slows heat. Foam also stops the air.

Spray foam insulation is a two-part polyurethane that expands on contact, sticking to the framing and filling every gap. Aires installs it across Edmonton and Calgary because in an Alberta winter most heat loss comes from air leaks, and foam seals them in the same pass that insulates.

Fibreglass batts work when they're installed perfectly. They rarely are. A batt cut short around an outlet, or pushed in behind a wire, leaves a gap that air moves straight through. In a house that sits at -25°C for weeks, those gaps show up as cold floors, frost on the rim joist and a furnace that never seems to shut off.

Closed cell foam has roughly double the R-value of fibreglass at the same thickness, and it doesn't sag or settle. Read the full breakdown on our spray foam insulation page, or compare closed cell and open cell.

Batts and gaps

Typical retrofit

  • Gaps around wiring, boxes and windows
  • Separate poly vapour barrier that gets torn
  • Settles or slumps over time
  • Mice nest in it
  • Frost on rim joists by January
Closed cell foam

Sealed cavity

  • Fills around every wire and box
  • Air and vapour barrier at 2 in or more
  • Bonds to framing, adds rigidity
  • Not a food or nesting source
  • Lasts 50+ years without settling

Pay for it on your tax bill

Aires is a Qualified Contractor under the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP). If your home is in Edmonton or another participating municipality, you can finance attic, basement and wall insulation and pay it back through your property taxes over as long as 25 years.

The loan stays with the property, so if you sell, the balance can go with the house. CEIP also stacks with other rebates. Attics need to reach R-50 to qualify, and we install to that number.

About Aires

A family business that answers its own phone

After 11 years as a family-owned insulation contractor, we stay true to our values: every job is just as important as the last. The work has grown into shops, farms, schools, multi-unit buildings and pipeline projects across Western Canada.

We'll tell you when foam isn't worth it. Plenty of attics are better off with blown-in cellulose, and we'd rather lose a bigger sale than sell you the wrong thing. More about us.

FAQ

Before you book

How much does spray foam insulation cost in Edmonton?

Spray foam is priced by the board foot (one square foot, one inch thick), so the cost depends on the area, the depth and whether it's open or closed cell. We measure on site and give you a written quote for free.

Is spray foam better than fibreglass batts?

For rim joists, basements, cathedral ceilings and metal buildings, usually yes. Closed cell gives roughly double the R-value per inch of fibreglass and seals air leaks that batts can't. For a wide-open attic floor, blown-in fibreglass or cellulose often makes more sense for the money.

How long does a spray foam job take?

Most of our spray foam jobs are done in one day. Larger commercial or agricultural buildings take longer, and we'll give you a schedule with the quote.

Do you work in Calgary?

Yes. Aires is based in Edmonton and Calgary, with crews serving both cities and nearby communities. Call us with the address and scope for a free quote.

Can I finance insulation through CEIP?

If your property is in Edmonton or another participating municipality, yes. Aires is a CEIP Qualified Contractor, so attic, basement and wall insulation we install can be financed and repaid through your property tax bill.

Do you offer a warranty?

Every job comes with a one-year workmanship warranty. If something we installed isn't right, we come back and fix it.
