Older bungalows
Many older Edmonton bungalows still have wood chips or vermiculite in the attic. Wood chips can come out with our vacuum gear. Vermiculite may contain asbestos and has to be tested before anyone touches it.
Local spray foam, attic insulation and removal across Edmonton and surrounding communities, backed by a documented quality and safety process.
Vaulted ceiling, closed cellAires Spray Foam & Insulation is a family-owned contractor serving Edmonton homes, shops, commercial sites and acreage buildings. We install spray foam and attic insulation, and we are a CEIP Qualified Contractor for the city.
After 11 years in business and more than 12 years of industry experience, our Edmonton team follows the same organized process on every project: free estimate, written quote, quality checks, clean-up and a one-year workmanship warranty.
Edmonton gets long cold stretches. A week in the -30s is normal in January, and the house leaks heat the whole time. A big share of that loss is air leakage: warm air pushing out through the attic hatch, pot lights and plumbing stacks, cold air pulled in at the rim joist.
The rim joist is where people notice it first. It's the band of framing that sits on top of the foundation, and in a lot of basements it has a loose batt jammed against it, or nothing. Warm, damp basement air reaches the cold wood and you get frost on it by mid-winter, then water stains in spring.
Closed cell spray foam fixes that in one pass. It insulates, seals the air path and works as the vapour barrier at two inches or more. Our spray foam insulation in Edmonton page covers rim joists, basements and garages in more detail.

Edmonton homes fall into a few groups, each with its own usual problem.

These usually have some attic insulation, just not much, and it has settled over the decades. A blown-in top-up to R-50 is often the cheapest upgrade in the house.
In the growing suburbs we spray walls, bonus rooms over garages and vaulted ceilings during construction, before the drywall goes up.
Detached garages and heated shops get closed cell on the walls and roof deck so the heater isn't running all day.
For attics specifically, see attic insulation in Edmonton. For everything else we install, the insulation services page lists each type.
Edmonton takes part in the Clean Energy Improvement Program, and Aires is a Qualified Contractor listed on the official CEIP directory. You can finance eligible upgrades and pay them back on your property tax bill over up to 25 years. If you sell, the balance stays with the house.
Residential projects need at least three qualifying upgrades unless the home reaches net zero. For insulation, attics have to reach at least R-50, and basement walls need at least R-12 added. One customer told us we "made getting the rebate a really simple process." The CEIP financing page has the full step list.

All of these are a day trip from the shop. Acreages in between count too.
Closest to the shop. Older homes in St. Albert, acreages around Morinville and Gibbons, and farm buildings further out toward Boyle.
Plenty of homes and detached garages in Sherwood Park, plus shops and industrial buildings around Fort Saskatchewan.
New subdivisions, acreages and lake properties. Acheson has a lot of warehouses and shops.
Growing towns with new builds, and the Nisku industrial area beside the airport.
Out on an acreage? Barns, Quonsets and machine shops are a regular job for us. Closed cell keeps condensation off the equipment and gives mice nothing to nest in. See agricultural spray foam.
Word for word, from reviews left for Aires.
I recently hired Aires spray foam to do some rim joist in my new property, and I was extremely satisfied with their service. The job was done very thoroughly and completed on time.
Used them for Attic insulation service. They also fixed the vents in the attic. They were fast, efficient, professional and responsive.
It was quick and done properly and they were really easy to work with. They were cheaper than me doing the job myself and made getting the rebate a really simple process as well.
The same crew handles two related trades. We apply fireproofing: DC315 thermal barrier over exposed foam in shops and Quonsets, and cementitious fireproofing on structural steel. We also do concrete lifting, injecting polyurethane foam under sunken driveways, sidewalks and garage slabs to raise them back to grade. Freeze and thaw moves a lot of concrete here, and lifting costs less than tearing it out.

It depends on the space, the material and the depth. Spray foam is priced by the board foot, attics by area and target R-value. We measure on site in Edmonton and give you a free written quote.
Yes. Attic blow-ins and most interior spray foam work go ahead through the winter. Spray foam needs warm surfaces to stick and cure, so if the space is unheated we'll talk about bringing in heat before we book.
Vermiculite in older homes can contain asbestos, so it needs testing before anyone disturbs it. If we see it during the walkthrough, we stop and tell you to get it tested before any removal is planned.
